Legend holds that while flying back with the mountain, a piece of it fell near present-day Ezhimala. Over time, that piece broke into smaller hills — now known as Ezhimala — and became known for its rich herbal growth reminiscent of the original Sanjeevani. Local belief still holds that many medicinal herbs and healing plants flourish here naturally.
