A Sacred Tradition of Faith, Reflection & Blessings
Sri Kote Anjaneya Temple, Tumkur, holds a very special place in my spiritual journey. This is not just a temple I visit occasionally — it is a shrine I have been visiting regularly for many years, possibly since 2003, and especially on Hanuman Jayanti.
For me, Hanuman Jayanti at Kote Anjaneya is not an event; it is a personal ritual of devotion, reflection, and renewal that I have followed for decades.
Sri Kote Anjaneya – A Powerful Hanuman Shrine in Tumkur
The Kote Anjaneya Temple is one of the most revered and powerful Hanuman temples in Tumkur. Lord Hanuman here is worshipped for:
- Strength and courage
- Clarity in life decisions
- Protection during difficult phases
- Discipline, devotion, and focus
Every visit brings a sense of calm and grounding, especially during Hanuman Jayanti.
Hanuman Jayanti – A Day I Rarely Miss
Most of the Hanuman Jayantis over the years, I have made it a point to be present at this temple.
On 1st December 2017, like many years before and after, I visited Sri Kote Anjaneya Temple to offer prayers and seek blessings. The atmosphere during Hanuman Jayanti is deeply devotional, filled with chants, lamps, and collective faith.
My Traditional Offering – Simple Yet Meaningful
Over the years, my way of worship has remained simple and consistent:
✔ Offering 5 bananas
✔ Carrying Tulsi leaves for prayer
✔ Lighting an ellu deepam (oil lamp) in front of the temple
These small acts of devotion carry deep meaning for me. They connect me to tradition, discipline, and gratitude rather than ritual complexity.
Lighting the Ellu Deepam – A Moment of Silence
Lighting the ellu deepam in front of the temple has always been a moment of stillness.
It is a time when:
- Thoughts slow down
- Worries feel lighter
- Faith takes center stage
That small flame symbolizes hope, strength, and guidance — values closely associated with Lord Hanuman.
The Banyan Tree – Where I Sit, Think & Reflect
One of the most meaningful parts of my visit has always been spending time sitting under the big banyan tree near the temple.
For years, I have:
- Sat quietly beneath the tree
- Reflected on my life journey
- Planned my next steps
- Calculated risks, responsibilities, and goals
- Asked Lord Hanuman for strength, clarity, and direction
That banyan tree has silently witnessed many of my thoughts, doubts, decisions, and prayers.
A Place Where I Ask for Blessings, Not Answers
At Sri Kote Anjaneya Temple, I never ask for miracles.
I ask for:
- Strength to face reality
- Courage to move forward
- Wisdom to make the right choices
And every time, I return with a lighter heart.
